Goal: Design an encoder adaptor to couple the tachometer shaft of the motor to the encoder shaft.

Factors: Small sizes do not always make for easy parts. This particular application was smaller than would be practical for a welded adaptor.

How we did it: We designed an adaptor out of bar stock and treated it as a thick adaptor plate. This aided in simplicity of the design, as well as made the part easier to machine.
