Customer needed BSF to design and build a special adaptor so that they could test a gearbox assembly in-house prior to shipping to their customer.

During this testing our adaptor needed to be able to handle 55,000 pounds (approx. 28 tons) hanging just 6 inches from the mounting face, which is a significant structural load. Utilizing SolidWorks and its Simulation software, we accomplished this task by designing and manufacturing this adaptor from a single piece of 4140 steel then heat-treating it to 38 to 42 Rockwell.
